Coral Vases

At first, Fargo the designer experimented with dipping torn sponges into liquid porcelain and then firing them. After several disasters in the kiln, she honed the process: instead of coating the outer layer, she carves into the sponge fragments with a special Japanese sculpture knife and then pours liquid porcelain into the cavity. Once fired, the vase form is dipped in intensely pigmented resin. The resulting object is uncannily organic in appearance. The tantalizing texture and warm, vivid color of Else Coral Vase will bring a spot of joy to any environment.
