Between the interface of functional objects and visual art, Lucas Morten invites you to an era where contemporary questioning social thoughts meet the history of brutalism. The Temple Shelf is a tribute to Charles -Édouard Jeanneret aka Le Corbusier, who often used twisted vertical walls to master light and shadow in his architecture. Lucas chose to develop this specific aesthetic and combines it with the nowadays new age of power, the information which refers to a technological paradigm that replaces and subsumes the previous paradigm of industrialism. With the internet, information is constantly flowing through our society in a rapidity that our civilization never thought was possible. The artist wanted to pay homage and reinforce the traditional way of reading while finding a way to integrate into a poetic way books and magazines in a home which translated itself as the Temple Shelf. Limited edition of 12

Lucas Morten is a multi-disciplinary artist juggling various mediums, resulting in either functional objects or visual arts.
