The Taes coffee table is inspired by ancient sloped architectural platforms once used for religious, ceremonial, and defensive purposes. These stepped structures supported monuments like pyramids and temples, or served as foundations for buildings and fortifications. Objects by Mokko feature a rhythm of monolithic form, created through an iteration of volumes and voids. Architectural elements are balanced, weighed and stripped from excess, until the essence of the inspiration is translated into a sculptural object that is emotionally resonant. Mokko is an Amsterdam based design studio with a collection of interior objects designed by founder Aad Bos and handcrafted in the Netherlands
