Andree Weissert worked for more than 12 years as a carpenter, designer and architect before founding his Berlin studio SAW in 2009. In addition to consulting, planning and managing projects for commercial and residential customers Andree works simultaneously on independent designs where he develops various prototypes, objects and ideas. The starting point of his work is his fascination with the potential of spaces and his passion for fun figures through which he lets all of his ideas flow and come to life.
X-Table
The X-Table is characterized by its robust 8mm-fibre cement panel. Despite the cold and solid characteristics of this material, the construction results in a light structure. The poles are barely touching one another as if the panel were just hanging there. The oval form of the panel, meanwhile, has no definite orientation, which serves to emphasise the free space which surrounds it.
