Coco de Mer table is famous for its unconventional erotic form. Once a mystery in its own right, the nut was believed to grow on the ocean floor, also known as the "beautiful rump", its curvature resembles a body shape. When the core of the nut is exposed, its distinctive round and brown colour, glistening shapes are revealed.
Coco de Mer drew its inspiration from the origin of the nut, the table is fashioned from caramelised bamboo, and is defined by its smooth edges and deep brown colour with soft, warm curves. The caramelisation brings out the sugars in the bamboo, giving it a dark hue and the polished surface is soft to the touch. The design comes in three iterations: a triangular, oval and rectangular version.
